Bou Habib: West does not support Syrians return to their homeland


Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Abdullah Bou Habib revealed, “We are facing some difficulties from the West, because they say they do not want the refugees to return to Syria” for reasons related to Bashar al-Assad’s policy.
Bou Habib added in this regard, that his country is not concerned with who will rule in Syria.
During a lecture delivered by the minister, who is on a working visit to Moscow at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, he indicated that Lebanon is cooperating with Russia to return these refugees to their homeland, explaining that Palestinian and Syrian refugees constitute about 40% of the total population of his country, which constitutes pressure on the Lebanese society.
Answering an invitation addressed to him, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdullah Bou Habib, lectured at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, on the role of Lebanon and its diversity as a center for interaction and dialogue, the most important challenges it faces, the reform steps to be taken and the work program for the next phase.
