Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Elias Bou Saab indicated, in a statement from the Republican Palace, that “the American mediator for the border demarcation file, Amos Hochstein, moved to Israel on the day he left Beirut and did not return to it again,” stressing “We are following up on this file and are in contact with him on this matter.”

He pointed out that “the issue of demarcation must end before September, in order to preserve stability in Lebanon, ” stressing that “the effort is still ongoing and has not stopped, and the American mediator is continuing his effort based on the last meeting that took place in Baabda.” He explained that “the attack on Gaza delayed the demarcation file, and we do not have an open time.’

Bou Saab revealed that “Hockstein’s return to Beirut is confirmed by the media, but on the ground, it cannot be confirmed.”

Regarding the Beirut port explosion file, he explained that “we must hear an answer from the Supreme Judicial Council between today and tomorrow,” adding: “Injustice must be lifted, and we continue to work to free the judiciary, and alleviate the pain of the port victims’ families.”
