The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Elias Bou Saab, called for “direct and open” communication with Damascus over the demarcation of Lebanon-Syria maritime borders on Wednesday.

In an interview with Agence France-Presse, Bou Saab said, “There must be held direct and public communications by the Lebanese government with Syria, away from regional political disagreements.”

“We have to communicate with the Syrian state openly and publicly to delineate the maritime borders (…); any future Lebanese government should undertake this task,” Bou Saab added.
