Industry Minister Georges Bushekian explained that “what happened in the government meeting yesterday, does not go beyond normal discussion, and did not reach the point of disagreement, and the speech of Prime Minister Najib Mikati, as well as everyone else, was firm when approaching the electricity plan.”
He considered via a radio interview that “the Energy Minister’s plan is good, and the deliberations revolve around the details, provided that it continues in any upcoming cabinet session, the closest of which is next Wednesday,” ruling out “any increase in the tariff before matters are resolved in their final form. ”
As for local products prics exceeding the imported ones, he called on “citizens to report any violation of this kind,” and he will not hesitate to “open import through the wide door, with annuling the fees.”
