According to George Brax, a member of the Syndicate of Gas Station Owners, “the fuel shortage will be alleviated after the opening of credits at the rate of 8,000 Lebanese thousand pounds, pending the new government’s decision on its plan,” denying that the owners of stations or those involved in the Ministry of Energy had been officially informed about the situation.
In a radio interview, he identified one step to solving the fuel crisis as ensuring the necessary credits for companies based on market demand, and as long as imported quantities are less than market demand, queues will persist.
“The subject is contained entirely between the Secretary-General of Hezbollah and the Lebanese state, and the Syndicate of Station Owners has nothing to do with it,” he said of Iranian oil.
