Chammas: No one is able to get us out of the “hole” that we are in!

The Head of Beirut Traders Association (BTA) Nicolas Chammas indicated that private institutions were relying on the summer season to put an end to the huge meltdown, but unfortunately the collapse accelerated and the evolving situation have dealt a fatal blow to the touristic season.

In an interview with MTV, Chammas considered that the current challenge is to pass September, especially that the majority of families have become structurally debilitated. “No one is able to get us out of the “hole” we are in. If the government is not formed soon, I appeal to the political blocs to resign to make room for others.”

Chammas warned that continuing on this manner, 10 percent of half the institutions that are still operating will shut down, and 20 percent of other institutions will falter.
