Clashes erupted on Sunday in Saida city, southern Lebanon, against the introduction of new rules banning the swimwear and alcoholic beverages on the beach.

The municipality of Saida raised a large banner at the entrance to the popular Saida swimming pool and before the opening of the season, in which it reminded swimmers of a set of conditions and instructions, including adherence to modest dress and the prohibition of the introduction of alcoholic beverages.

The sign bore the signatures of the Municipality of Sidon ad the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
