Nabatiyeh and its area were in complete darkness last night, as generators were turned off due to the exhaustion of diesel, which prompted many citizens to stay on rooftops and balconies due to the hot weather, which negatively affected patients using oxygen machines, old people, and children.
The owners of the generators announced in successive statements that they are “in the process of turning off the generators due to the lack of fuel oil, so that the price of one canister in black market exceeded 180,000 pounds,” pointing to “a mafia that controls the market, as diesel tanks roam the towns, supported by large dealers, and sell their quantities to those who Pay the highest price.
The generators’ extinguishing included the city of Nabatiyeh and the towns of: Harouf, Toul, Zebadin, Shoukin, Jarjo’, Gbeshit, Kfarman and Hboush, while other towns and villages generators are off for up to 12 hours per day.
