The Mills Association in Lebanon announced that it had been agreed with the Ministers of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, Industry George Bouchikian, and Agriculture Abbas Hajj Hassan, that the mill deliveries would be limited to flour intended for the “Arabic loaf” industry, in order to continue producing this type of flour for the longest period of time possible until the arrival of additional quantities of wheat.

The assembly indicated that the concerned ministers are making the necessary contacts with global markets, and these efforts may culminate in positive results.

The assembly stressed that there is no need for panic and rushing to bakeries and storing flour and bread, stressing that wheat is available and that close cooperation between the ministers of economy, trade, industry, agriculture and the assembly is in place with the aim of securing foodstuffs permanently.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Economy and Trade raided a mill in Dora area, accompanied by State Security, where the employees of the accounting department of the company were summoned to check the distribution and sale invoices.
