Caretaker Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, chaired a meeting on the World Bank loan, which was attended by Ministers Zeina Akar, Ramzi Musharrafieh, Tarek Majzoub, and Lamia Yammine, in addition to Director General of the Ministry of Education Fadi Yarak, Director General of the Ministry of Social Affairs Abdullah Ahmed, and representatives from the World Bank and the World Food Programme, in the presence of PM Advisors, Khodor Taleb and Hussein Kaafarani.

After the meeting, Minister Musharrafieh delivered the following remarks:

“The Ministerial Committee met in the presence of the Technical Committee of the International Loan Program, under the chairmanship of Premier Hassan Diab, to review the Committee’s practical steps to launch the project, which was approved in Parliament. We hope that concrete steps aimed at launching the project will duly be taken after Al-Adha Holiday. We have also taken stock of all previous Committee meetings’ findings in terms of practical steps elaborated with a view to launching this project that is one of the projects conducted by the Ministry of Social Affairs in the framework of the National Poverty Targeting Program (NPTP), in addition to the ration card program that will be elaborated soon.  It should be noted that all these projects, including the NPTP, the World Bank’s loan program, and the ration card, are all complementary projects.”
