Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab issued an administrative memorandum stating that all departments, public institutions and municipalities should close on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

The statement said: “All public administrations, institutions and municipalities shall be closed on the first and second day of Eid, according to the announcement of Dar Al Fatwa for the first of Shawwal and the announcement of the Supreme Shiite Council for the first day of the month. If the timing of the Eid occurs on the same day for both, then closure will be only two days.”
