Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab tweeted: “It is not a celebratory folklore, it is a historical milestone from which the real transformations in the conflict with the Israeli enemy, which was considered invincible, began.”

He added, “The Day of Resistance and Liberation is that radiance that spread the light of victory from the year 2000 to the year 2006 and then to the year 2021 with the victory of Gaza. May victory always prevails.

It is noteworthy that Israel occupied south Lebanon for about 20 years, before it withdrew is troops on May 25th 2000. On this occasion many have issued statements celebrating this event, among who are  Major general Abbas Ibrahim and defense minister Zeina Akar.
