Sources from diplomatic circles informed “Nidaa Al Watan” that the United States is “not worried” about the ongoing confrontations on the borders in southern Lebanon. These sources attributed the American stance to a “ceiling” that regulates these confrontations, a result of ongoing communications between Washington and Tehran.
In Tehran, the reformist newspaper “Ham Mihan” quoted former Iranian diplomat Seyed Jalal Sadatian, stating that there seems to be a form of “secret diplomacy” between Iran and the United States “to control the actions of Iran-affiliated armed groups in Syria and Iraq.”
Sadatian pointed out that Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah’s “conservative” speech showed Iran’s “desire not to escalate the conflict.”
