Egypt grants aid shipment to Lebanon comprising 487.5 tons of foodstuffs and medicines

Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Dr. Yasser Alawi, on Friday announced that a new shipment of the Egyptian aid bridge has set sail to Lebanon from Egypt’s Damietta port at dawn today, in line with the directives of Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi,to provide support to the Lebanese government and the brotherly Lebanese people.

Ambassador Alawi pointed out that the new shipment is the largest aid en route to Lebanon since the Beirut Port explosion, comprising a total of 487.5 tons, including 265 tons of medicines and medical supplies that cover treatment medications for the Coronavirus, as well as medicines for the treatment of chronic diseases, such as blood pressure, heart and diabetes, 122 tons of foodstuffs and 100 tons of food rations.

Ambassador Alawi underlined “Egypt’s permanent commitment to its pledge it made at the presidential level to stand by Lebanon and to harness all Egyptian capabilities to support the Lebanese brethrens during these delicate circumstances.”
