El-Khoury says, “I don’t interfere with the judiciary’s work, which carries out its duties”

The Minister of Justice Henry El-Khoury affirmed that he would not interfere in the work of the judiciary, which is carrying out its duties.

During his meeting with a delegation from the Beirut Bar Association, El-Khoury said: “I stand by the lawyers with the demands that they talked about and I will faithfully transfer them to the competent references in order to achieve their implementation, therefore I stress that the relationship should be in the best condition between lawyers and judges.”

El-Khoury hoped that the New Year would be “distinguished by work and activity, and that it would be an ideal of justice and truth, and that the judiciary would play its role, as well as lawyers.”

In response to a question about the port explosion file, Minister El-Khoury replied: “This file is in the hands of the judiciary, which is carrying out its duties in this regard.”

On the issue of referring the part related to the trial of presidents and ministers to the Parliament, Minister El-Khoury replied: “This matter is a legal point for discussion, so it is not vital to anticipate any legal position prematurely.”
