The Department of tenders canceled the tender for the purchase of a quantity of grade A fuel oil for the Jiyyeh and Zouk laboratories, after the door for submitting bids to it closed last Friday.
After the bids were closed, it was found that the seven companies had not submitted all the required documents stipulated by the terms.
A source involved in the file told Akhbar Al-Yawm that “the lack of documents means that the bidders have not taken seriously the tender advanced by the Lebanese state, in other words, this tender has failed.”
The source explained that “all what we are witnessing today is a result of the lack of credibility of the Lebanese state. Buying fuel via SPOT CARGO does not lead to permanence, because each steamship is purchased separately at fluctuating prices.”
Regarding the closing of the bids for the purchase of a quantity of (Grade B) fuel oil tender at noon today, provided that the bids will close tomorrow, the source expected to face similar issues, because “state lacks credibility when it comes to fuel purchase.”
