Sources following the diplomatic movement in Lebanon have explained the words of French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, that Paris is tending to send a “firm pressure message on politicians responsible of blocking the formation of the government and the implementation of the desired reforms in the French initiative to help Lebanon.”

The sources explained to Nidaa Al Watan that “work is underway to coordinate a joint French-European position with the United States, to draw up a list of those targeted in international pressure to push them to stop obstruction, and at the top of this list is the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gebran Bassil, as the party that all fingers point to direct responsibility for the refusal of President Michel Aoun to sign the formation decrees as he is the party accused of its direct responsibility for the refusal of President Michel Aoun to sign the formation decrees, especially since the French presidency is not hesitating in the recent times to hold Bassil, by name, directly responsible for the obstruction”.
