Families of students abroad appeal to Mikati to implement Resolution 193

The Association of Parents of Lebanese Students Studying Abroad appealed in a statement to Prime Minister Najib Mikati to save their children abroad by implementing student dollar Law No. 193, which was halted due to the state’s neglect to monitor the execution of laws.

The statement said that this negligence has allowed banks to evade the execution of this law, without caring about the students and whether they lose their seats in their universities abroad due to their inability to pay the tuition fees.”

The association added: “We’ve been working for two years to pass the law, and we appeal to PM Mikati to stand by the students and compel banks to implement it, and support the new proposal for the 2021-2022 school year, which took its legal paths in Parliament, and put it on the agenda of the first Cabinet session to discuss it.”
