The Minister of Energy and Water Walid Fayyad, signed a decision to complete the second offshore licensing round, which the government had previously agreed to launch, but the deadline for submitting applications for participation has been temporarily postponed due to the “Corona” pandemic.

The minister’s decision, “based on the recommendation of the Lebanese Petroleum Administration, included a specific deadline for submitting applications for participation in the course by oil and gas companies, which is June 15, 2022.”

The decision also included “the numbers of the blocks open to bidding, which are the eight non-binding blocks out of the ten, bearing in mind that blocks 4 and 9 have been awarded due to the first licensing round.”
