Fayyad: No need to panic.

Amid the return of queues in front of gas stations, there is conflicting information about the remaining amount of fuel in the markets, Energy Minister Walid Fayyad announced, during his tour, with the Director General of the Ministry of Economy, on the oil-distributing companies, that “we came to reassure people and to inspect the stockpile that suffices for at least 15 days.”

Fayyad stressed that “there is no need to panic,” calling “to make sure that the materials are delivered to citizens.”

For his part, Director-General of the Ministry of Economy, Muhammad Abu Haidar, pointed out that “we are coordinating with the Ministry of Energy in the policy of tracking, and today we will reveal the amount of fuel in the warehouses, and in every crisis, crisis traders appear in Lebanon.”

Abu Haider added via a television interview: “We were surprised that the fuel distribution companies were rationing distribution pending the issuance of the new schedule for the greatest profit, and we asked them to double the quantities in the markets to reduce the severity of the queues.”
