Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri received this afternoon at the Center House the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Elie Ferzli, who said at the end of the meeting that “the need to form a government remains a central issue that must to be the goal of all Lebanese”.

He added: “The formation of government can only be done in accordance with the constitutional texts and the spirit of the constitution. The constitution constitutes the regulator of the relation among the components, and of the relation among all the Lebanese. I believe that Prime Minister Hariri not only understands this well, but is committed to it and will not deviate from it, because coexistence for Prime Minister Hariri is a central issue, and he believes that the justification for existence of Lebanon is this coexistence and this relationship between Muslims and Christians. He feels a sense of comfort after his visit to the Maronite Patriarch ( Bechara Boutros al-Rai). I happened to visit him today, right after that visit, so I found that he not only feels serene, but he also feels a great joy for the optimistic vision of things that the next few days might bring”.
