Fifth round of negotiations regarding borders’ demarcation has ended

The fifth round of negotiations regarding maritime borders’ demarcation between Lebanon and the Israeli enemy, which took place this morning in Naqoura and lasted for five hours, ended under the auspices of the United Nations and with American mediation, with ultimate secrecy of the media. In conformity with the internationally recognized Law of the Sea, the Lebanese team claimed their right to maritime borders and to any other water point.

The Lebanese and American delegations arrived at Naqoura on two military helicopters from Rafic Hariri International Airport – Beirut.

Naqoura and the southern coast witnessed intensive patrols by the army and “UNIFIL”, in addition to sea and air patrols by “UNIFIL” helicopters, and an intense flight of enemy aircraft over Naqoura and the sea coincided with the holding of the negotiation session.
