Follow-up Coronavirus Committee issues new recommendations to curb the virus spread

The Follow-up Committee on Coronavirus Preventive Measures held a meeting on Thursday to assess the epidemic situation and curb the spread of coronavirus.

The committee issued the following recommendations:

1- Evaluating the situation of vaccines administrated in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to check whether it should be added to the list of countries that should examine a PCR test for those who arrive from it after 15 days from receiving the second shot of the vaccine. The General Directorate of Civil Aviation should be provided with the result of this evaluation to take the necessary action.

2- The epidemiological surveillance program in the ministry, developed a plan for the mechanism of conducting future tests for Corona – TESTING STRATEGY, in cooperation with the World Health Organization and university hospitals.

3- Assigning governmental and private hospitals to provide the ministry with the number of daily PCR examinations conducted by it, and the percentage of positive ones. Hospitals should send the results to the committee through the ministry to be able to evaluate the epidemic situation continuously.
