The Chairman of the Middle East Airlines, Mohamad El-Hout, explained the reasons behind the company’s decision to receive ticket prices in dollars starting from June.

He said that the company pays 85 percent of its expenditures in dollars starting from the maintenance of the aircraft, reaching the airport of the rental fees.”

El Hout said: “We are obliged to to charge the prices of the tickets in dollars to ensure sustainability and continuity of the company.”

“This decision is limited to the Middle East Airlines, and is accompanied with price adjustments. The aviation sector is threatened from witnessing contraction, similar to the situation that prevailed during coronavirus pandemic.”
