Foreign minister holds diplomatic meetings and contacts over current developments

Abdallah Bou Habib, the interim foreign minister, attended a number of diplomatic engagements and contacts on Monday as part of a proactive diplomatic effort to stop escalation in the region.

He had separate meetings today with the ambassadors of the USA’s Dorothy Shea, Switzerland’s Marion Weichelt, Russia’s Alexander Rudakov, Japan’s Magoshi Masayuki, China’s Qian Minjian, France’s Herve Magro, Argentina’s Mauricio Alice, and the UK’s Hamish Cowell.

The most recent developments in South Lebanon and the Gaza Strip are said to have been discussed at the talks, with Bou Habib emphasizing Lebanon’s desire to prevent any escalation. He additionally warned of the “repercussions of the unlimited support for Israel on regional peace and security” as well as “Israel’s violations of the international humanitarian law.”
