Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants said on Wednesday in an issued statement that “it [the Ministry] has followed up with great concern the developments in the brotherly Iraq, and expressed its satisfaction with the steps taken for restraint, non-escalation, resorting to the language of reason and institutions, and the adoption of dialogue as a means of settling disputes.’’

The statement added, ’’The Ministry stresses the importance of resolving internal disputes by peaceful means, in a way that achieves the aspirations of the Iraqi people for affluence, stability and prosperity. The Ministry also reminds of the Lebanese firm position in support of the unity, sovereignty, independence and security of Iraq.”
