French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian announced to President Michel Aoun, President-designate Saad Hariri and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri that the deliberate obstruction of getting out of the political crisis must end immediately.

Le Drian also informed senior Lebanese officials that there is consideration at the European Union level in identifying ways to put pressure on those responsible for the disruption.

The French Foreign Minister also informed his European colleagues that the time had come to increase the pressure after the 7-month suspension.
