French diplomat announces support agreement to restore Sursock Museum

French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo, on Friday announced in a joint press conference with head of Sursock Museum committee, former minister Tarek Mitri, the signature of an agreement between Sursock Museum and the French Ministry of Culture for the restoration of the museum’s stained glass windows, as well as the rehabilitation of its historic first floor and damaged facades.

The French Ambassador underlined her country’s keenness on making contributions to help rebuild historic and cultural monuments.

She recalled that French President, Emmanuel Macon, had expressed France’s wish to engage in this area during the latter’s last visit to Lebanon.
