The French Embassy in Lebanon distributed a statement by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that it “does not forget the victims of the August 4 bombing,” expressing its solidarity with their families and loved ones.
On the third anniversary of the Beirut port bombing, the French Foreign Ministry expressed its hope that “the Lebanese judiciary will continue to complete the investigation with full transparency and away from political interference.”
“France will continue to stand by Lebanon, as it has always done,” the statement declared.
After that, the French President’s envoy to Lebanon, Jean-Yves Le Drian, wrote a tweet in which he said: “My thoughts go to the victims of the explosion that occurred in the port of Beirut exactly 3 years ago.
He added, “Justice must be served without any political interference. As usual, in troubled times, France remains in solidarity with the Lebanese.”
