Murders and thefts rose dramatically in Lebanon
Information International published a report under the title: “Murder and theft between numbers and imagination before the elections.”
The report stated: “Officials make frequent statements, pointing to a decline in the number of murders and thefts during the first three months of this year, in comparison with the same period in 2021, but the figures issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces confirm otherwise, with an increase in the number of theft crimes and killing during this period, as shown in the following table.
Adding, “During the first three months of this year, compared to the same period last year, car theft crimes increased by 26.2%, theft crimes by 21.2%, and murder by 15%.”
The report indicated that, “in comparison with the first three months of 2019, we see an increase in theft crimes by 306%.”
