The representative of fuel distributors, Fadi Abu Shakra, commented on the new rise in fuel prices, saying: “This is the destiny of the citizen, this is how he will continue to live.”

Abu Shakra had previously confirmed that “distributors and stations suffer from a shortage of gasoline before the day of the parliamentary elections,” and he said: “We tolerated and took the matter on our shoulders and did not close the stations and continued to deliver the material to the citizens during the election period even though we did not receive gasoline. of the importing companies since last Friday.

Abu Chakra added in an interview with the “National News Agency”: “Today we were surprised by the increase in the price of a can of gasoline by 35,000 pounds, knowing that the companies also did not deliver fuel to the stations today because of the problem with the banks and the Banque du Liban by transferring money at an exchange rate.”

Abu Shakra appealed to the government, its president, and those concerned, “to move quickly before it is too late to solve the problem, because the citizen can no longer tolerate more crises and return to the queues.”
