Head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, tweeted:
“And thus, the reasons that led the “Free Patriotic Movement” to return to the MegaCenter again became apparent, as Gebran Bassil and his ministers know very well the impossibility of working with the megastar system in the upcoming elections within the interval from this entitlement.
Just as a reminder, we were the first to ask for the megacenter and we will continue to call for its adoption, but not to use it as an excuse to postpone the parliamentary elections or to topple them.
Yesterday, and through the Free Patriotic Movement’s stance, at the first meeting of the ministerial committee, charged with examining the possibility of adopting the megacenter in the parliamentary elections of 2022, revealed the intention of the movement to postpone the elections.
Postponing the elections at this particular stage means, in practice, that they are being undermined, as well as depriving the Lebanese people of their only chance to be saved, after they have brought them to the bottom of Hell. So what do they want next? Do they want, by their efforts to postpone the parliamentary elections, to eliminate the last free Lebanese in this country?
The Lebanese spent two years in torment, hunger, oppression and deprivation on all levels, hoping to reach the parliamentary elections on May 15, so their voice can be heard loudly, and achieve the required breach. Even this hope, they want to kill. But we will not allow them to do so, and we will continue to fight until the last breath for the elections to take place on schedule.”
