Lebanon has been verbally informed by Germany of an arrest warrant against central bank governor Riad Salameh, a senior judicial source tells Reuters.

This comes after the French Financial Prosecutor, in a statement last Friday, confirmed the issuance of an arrest warrant against Salameh. However, Salameh denies any wrongdoing.

An international arrest warrant was issued against Salameh by Interpol, and Lebanon has received the red notice for his arrest.
