The Appeal Public Prosecutor in Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, issued the following statement

“The journalist Marcel Ghanem intends always in the introduction of his program “Sar l Waat” to attack me in an unprecedented manner, and my only sin is what angers Mr. Ghanem, or rather angers his “masters”, is that I exercise all my powers in investigation and prosecution, and I do not hesitate to open any file in which I find sufficient evidence to claim in the name of society.”

She added: “I hope the Supreme Judicial Council will take a clear position in this regard regarding this unjustified and harmful targeting, not only against my person, but of the entire judicial body, to intimidate every judge who tries to open any file that this politician or this media person or that does not like, especially since our people are going through the most difficult economic conditions, which  necessitate the judiciary to intervene in order to protect this looted and oppressed people. Of course, I reserve all my rights to file a claim against the aforementioned journalist.”
