Sources related to the Lebanese Forces party said that the bloc’s refusal to vote for the Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri’s recommendations is not related to the stances of any other political party.

The source confirmed to Aljoumhouria newspaper that  the “Strong Republic” bloc have his own stances and reasons, and the decision was taken solely without coordinating with any other parties or Parliamentary blocs.

The sources added: “The decision is consistent with our stances which is mainly calling for early parliamentary elections, because the formation of any government will not be a solution for the current impasse and financial catastrophe.”

The source said that the Lebanese forces party do not bet on any of the two presidents to form a government. He said: “We do not consider that forming a government will save the country and its citizens. We rather bet on the citizen’s votes in the ballot box.”
