Grillo at opening of firefighters training center in honor of August 4 martyrs: We are determined to help Lebanon and we will not back down

Director-General of Civil Defense, Brigadier Raymond Khattar, inaugurated the indoor firefighting training center funded by the French state in honor of the August 4 martyrs, under the patronage and in the presence of Ambassador of France to Lebanon, Anne Grillo.

The Ambassador gave a speech in which she stressed that the Civil Defense and the Beirut Fire Brigade are always on the front lines in emergency situations to respond and provide aid to all, regardless of the risks, armed with courage and honor at the service of public interest and the interests of the country.”

“Your commitment, strength, dedication, determination, and professionalism push us as French to work with you. Without you, our cooperation is meaningless. Cooperation is not only through equipment, but at a humanitarian level, for your sake and for the service of all the Lebanese,” she said.

“We never hesitate when a brotherly country asks for help. We respond and go through with it. France is determined to help Lebanon and will never back down. We will continue to stand by your side as long as you need us, and we will provide other equipment to the Beirut Fire Brigade to put out fires in open spaces,” Grillo went on.

“The Lebanese want a state that protects them, provides them with services and preserves their rights. Living safely in their country is a basic right. I believe that through your technical competencies and the way you work, you can lay the foundation for a state that protects its people without discrimination,” she concluded.
