Grillo: France and Lebanon consolidate mutual cooperation in the interest of civil societies

The French Embassy in Beirut distributed a tweet by the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo, in which she announced, “the signing of the updated cooperation agreement between President of the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Thierry Beaudet, and his Lebanese counterpart, President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Charles Arbid, in the presence of Ambassador Anne Grillo.”

Ambassador Grillo tweeted: “France and Lebanon are strengthening their cooperation in the interest of civil societies in order to make their voices heard when drafting economic, social and environmental policies, and to promote democratic debate.”

The French Ambassador underlined that “supporting the contribution of the Lebanese active forces (the private sector, associations) in the development of public policies is the objective of this close cooperation between the Economic, Social and Environmental Council in France and the Economic and Social Council in Lebanon.”

Grillo concluded: “Amidst the deep crisis that Lebanon is going through, public institutions can rely on these potentials in a beneficial way to work for the common good of all the Lebanese and for the general interest of Lebanon.”
