Hamieh, Ezz El-Din discuss the farmer’s losses

The Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh received in his office in the ministry the member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Hassan Ezz El-Din, accompanied by his assistant, Sajid Shahrour, where they discussed political and development issues.

Ezz El-Din talked about “the great financial losses incurred by the Lebanese farmer, with regard to the cost of transit,” stressing “the need for joining efforts to find a solution to this problem, especially the shipping cost.”

Hamieh confirmed that he “is following up this issue with his Syrian counterpart, and that he sees positivity from the Syrian officials in order to reach a formula that takes into account all parties.”

Ezz El-Din discusses “some problems faced in some roads in Tyre, especially the highway that separates the towns of Maaraka, Tayrdiba, Tura, as well as Burj al-Shamali town road, and the severe damages it cause to the cars passing through it.”

Hamieh stressed that “work to address these two roads will be conducted once the new budget is approved.”

Regarding discussions of the new general budget, Ezz El-Din stressed that “the efforts made during the discussion of its provisions must be in the context of alleviating the financial burdens on the poor, the vulnerable. and those with limited income, and therefore the need to improve many financial figures in many items, and not to include taxes and fees. The new budget should be fair to citizens in terms of imposing new taxes and fees.”

He also stressed “the need for setting an economic recovery plan during the preparation of the budget, in addition to the need to work to recover financial deposits in banks and give them to their owners.”
