Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transportation Ali Hamieh met with Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Thursday at the Grand Serail.
Mikati was informed by Hamieh on the protocols, safety measures, and strategies that the Ministry is putting in place at the four ports in Lebanon—Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon, and Tyre—as well as at Beirut Airport, highways, and bridges, to handle any extraordinary situations that may arise at these crucial infrastructures.
In an effort to guarantee prompt action in response to developments, Hamieh clarified, “These measures and plans note the importance of work continuity in these facilities, which should be accompanied by a fast, flexible, and practical financial mechanism by the Council of Ministers, based on legal principles approved by the Council of Ministers.”
