Hassan called for setting health emergency plan that simulates current challenges

Caretaker Minister of Public Health Hamad Hassan, stressed during a meeting with the heads of directorates in the ministry, and in the presence of Acting Director General Fadi Sinan, the importance of setting a health emergency plan to complete equipping governmental hospitals and developing  health policies that simulate the exceptional challenges that citizens are facing currently.

Hassan called for organizing ongoing workshops with stakeholders in the health and medical sectors to secure pharmaceuticals, infant formula, as well as other medical supplies and supplements. He asked for “tracking these urgent needs to determine the shortages in the market, and strengthening primary health care services because of its positive impact on citizens.”

Minister Hassan said that he discussed these matters in a meeting with the Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab, which focused on improving the current health situation.”

Hassan expressed his satisfaction regarding the positive indicators that are recorded, as the percentage of positive tests for every 100 examinations decreased to 6.5 percent, after reaching 21 percent in the beginning of the year.”

Hassan added: “We should be patient in drawing conclusions. We need to continue following up epidemiological surveillance.” He called on citizens to adhere to preventive and safety measures to confront the pandemic.”
