The UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, was received by Dr. Firas Abiad, the acting minister of public health, on Thursday at his ministry office. During their conversation, he went over the overall state of affairs and the state of the nation’s health system.

Wronecka was given a tour of the Ministry’s health emergency operations room by Minister Al-Abiad, who also informed her on the strategy in place for the Ministry in case the situation in Lebanon changes.

Wronecka, in turn, praised the Ministry of Public Health’s efforts in this area and emphasized the UN agencies’ ongoing assistance to the health sector so it can fulfill its responsibilities.
