Health Ministry receives 100,000 AstraZeneca vaccines as a gift from Austria

The Ministry of Public Health, represented by its Director General Fadi Sanan, received at Beirut International Airport this afternoon a donation of vaccines from the State of Austria to the Ministry of Health, in the presence of the Austrian Consul and Chancellor, Thomas Armin, and the Military Attache at the Embassy, ​​Colonel Armin Lehner.

In a word by the Austrian Consul, he expressed gladness “to hand over this small donation to the Ministry of Public Health, as an expression of Austria’s support for Lebanon.”

In turn, Sanan spoke on behalf of the Health Ministry, thanking Austria for providing this gift, “which is estimated at 100,000 vaccines from AstraZeneca, which has proven to be effective against mutant coronavirus,” and he hoped that “this cooperation will be an introduction to more in the future by the dear state of Austria.”

Sanan also urged everyone in Lebanon “to receive the vaccine to achieve herd immunity.”
