The Head of the Syndicate of Private Hospitals Sleiman Haroun said that they met yesterday with Minister of Public Health Firas Abiad, who is trying to balance the limited capabilities with the hospitals’ needs for medical supplies.
“We are in big trouble,” he said in a press interview.
In this regard, Haroun indicated in a previous interview that “the surge in the dollar exchange rate, which was accompanied by lifting subsidies on most medical supplies, led to a rise in hospital bills.”
Haroun also confirmed earlier that “the country’s crisis has impacted the hospitals negatively, starting from the medical staff where large amounts are emigrating, threatening of a large gap over several years, which is the most serious aspect of the crisis, in addition to medicine outages.”
