Member of Gas Station Owners’ Syndicate , George Braks, said in a statement, “The implementation of the agreement with brotherly Iraq to import one million tons of fuel for Electricity of Lebanon and the facilities it included in terms of paying has several advantages, the most important of which is that we will not have to secure nearly 400 million dollars immediately to obtain it as it is due after a year, and we will not be faced with the dilemma of securing the amounts in cash US dollars, because they will be paid through Banque du Liban through Lebanese services and consultations.
He said: “This agreement must be adopted with other commodities and sectors, especially gasoline and diesel, and we have to work on similar methods with other countries.”
