Head of the Mills Association, Ahmed Hteit, indicated that “the required quantity of diesel was not delivered,” pointing out that “the mills cannot wait long for the fuel.”
He stressed via a television interview, “We are coordinating permanently with the Ministry of Economy, and we often reach solutions so that the citizen does not feel that there is a disturbance the dealing process.” He explained that “the solutions given to some sectors cannot be adopted by the mills, and we suggested that bread be priced at the unsubsidized price, but we have not reached a final decision yet.”
Heit pointed out that “the price of unsubsidized diesel that is bought is about 220 thousand pounds, so the price of flour will increase by about 10%, when the subsidy is lifted.”
