International Monetary Fund spokesman Gerry Rice said “A team of IMF experts will visit Lebanon next week, to discuss the reasons for the delay in implementing the agreed-upon reforms required to obtain a loan from the Fund, in light of the deteriorating living conditions in the country,” according to Reuters.
He added, “We look forward to supporting Lebanon as strongly as we can, the situation is hard.”
Rice continued, “There has been slow progress in implementing some of the necessary measures that we believe are required to move forward with the loan programme.”
