The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka wrote on her Twitter account, saying: “Dire illustrations of how the worsening economic and financial crisis is weighing heavily on people’s lives. Immediate policy decisions and activation of institutions are needed to mitigate the impact of the crisis and steer Lebanon back to a path of economic stabilization and recovery.”

“In light of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases and fears of this epidemic, we can only commend the essential role played by doctors, nurses, and health care providers working on the front lines to protect us,” Wronecka said.
