Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport issued the following statement

“Some media outlets and social media platforms have reported on the loss of contents from passengers’ bags arriving or departing through Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport.”

The statement added: “The airport’s administration, in its commitment to the interests and safety of passengers, and in order to preserve the reputation of the airport, urges any passenger who has lost contents from their bag to come to the office of the airport’s director or his representative at any time. The passenger will be able to review the surveillance cameras and verify the bag’s path before being loaded onto the plane in case the passenger is departing, or after being offloaded from the plane if the passenger is arriving, in coordination with the airport security apparatus.”
