The head of the economic bodies, former Minister Mohamed Choucair, confirmed in a press interview that “if the Gulf countries decide to completely boycott Lebanon, the country will face an industrial disaster in every sense of the word because there will be no alternative markets for the disposal of Lebanese products.”
“What alleviates the crisis so far is that the decision to prohibit Lebanese exports was adopted by Saudi Arabia alone, not by the other Gulf states,” Choucair explained. “Minister George Kordahi’s attitude is beyond explanation,” he said, pointing out that the interest of Lebanon and its people is more important than any minister’s.
