The Public Relations Division of the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces made the following statement:

Several robberies from within stores selling industrial tools, appliances, electrical cables, and other items have recently occurred in numerous parts of the Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates.

As a consequence, the specialist units of the Internal Security Forces’ Information Division strengthened their processes to identify those involved, and it was discovered through follow-up that they used rental automobiles with counterfeit plates to carry out their operations.

As a consequence of the rigorous inquiries and investigations carried out by these units, they arrested the following individuals:

A.A.A. (Lebanese nationality, born in 1971) is the gang’s head.
A.S.A. (Lebanese nationality, born in 1964), holder of a criminal record that includes drug offenses, robbery, and theft.
A special force of the division was able to arrest the first in the Khaldeh locality and the second in the Ghobeiry locality on June 9 and 10, 2021, following a meticulous monitoring and control process.

Some of the stolen products were discovered during a search of the latter’s shop in Ghobeiry.

During investigation, (A.A.A.) admitted to have formed a theft gang with others that targeted shops, carrying out many of these operations in several areas including Rabweh, Jal El Dib, Dbayeh, Sarba, Rabieh, Mtayleb and Halat.

Legal procedures were taken against them, and the seizures were deposited with the competent reference, in conformity with a judicial indication.
